About Us

Welcome to the CAST! With a focus on inclusion, inspiration, and imagination, Cast Theatre Co. develops young people interested in the arts to grow in the craft both on stage and off. We will offer a variety of classes that focus on different aspects of theatre such as acting, improv, musical theatre and stagecraft, to name a few. Each year, students will have the opportunity to audition and take part in several musical and non-musical productions.

Our team comes with a passion for the arts and decades of experience both in performance and technical aspects of theatre. As performers and artists ourselves, as well as parents of “theatre kids”, we understand the time and dedication required from families to help our children become well rounded performers.

Our goal is that Cast Theatre Co. will become recognized as a cornerstone of theatre appreciation, enrichment, and growth in Palm Beach County.

Meet The CAST

Michael Butt

Artistic Director (Founder)

Michael Butt (or Mr. Mike or Mr. B as he is known to his students) has been fascinated by the world of theatre ever since watching the stage production of “Peter Pan” at Orlando’s Bob Carr. The first time he set foot on stage as Owen in “The Foreigner,” there was no turning back. A natural born character actor, Mike concentrated his studies in high school and college on the fundamentals of character construction, script analysis, and movement. One of his notable accomplishments was being recognized at the Florida Thespian District Competition as “Best Supporting Actor” for his portrayal of Billy Bibbit in “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” and then going on to perform it at the state competition. While studying at Eastern New Mexico University, he wrote two student-led productions. Outside of school, he had the pleasure of working for the Walt Disney World Entertainment department and performed in semi-professional and community productions.

Mike has spent the last few years working with children, ages 5 – 17, teaching acting, improv, and directing several productions including “Little Shop of Horrors,” “Frozen,” “Mean Girls,” “Annie,” “Peter Pan,” “Spamalot,” and “Little Mermaid.”

An intro to Mike is incomplete without a mention of his theatrical partner and wife of 14 years, Jessica. They have four children, three of which are involved in performing arts themselves. Mike’s passion for theatre is eclipsed only by his desire to encourage and teach more young people to step into the spotlight and shine.

Jessica Zeno

Executive Director (Founder)

From a young age, Jessica knew she wanted to be on stage. She joined her school’s chorus at the age of nine and, after that, followed many years of choir, dance and theatre. She’s performed in numerous musicals, plays, talent shows and competitions and went on to study theatre in college. Some of her favorite memories include singing with her high school choir at the Epcot Candlelight Processional and performing a duet at the Florida State Thespian Festival.

As a mom of four, Jessica has loved sharing her passion for performing with her children. In recent years, she has assisted in directing and choreographing multiple musical productions. Jessica is thrilled to continue inspiring the next generation of performers, ensuring that the magic of theatre thrives for years to come.

Amanda Skidmore

Scenic Director (Founder)

Amanda has always loved being in the spotlight, from child modeling, to being in the school chorus, to acting on stage, so it’s a no brainer that she would still gravitate towards the stage lights even in her artistic endeavors.

Amanda studied art and theatre at FAU before ultimately getting a degree in English Lit. She has been in several art shows over the years, has appeared at the Lake Worth Streetpainting festival, and is even a published author.

Amanda has a passion for helping the next generation appreciate the arts in all it’s forms and can regularly be found carting her daughter and a car full of other teens all over South Florida to see shows or teaching them to draw, paint, and build.

She loves working with Mike and Jessica to bring their visions to life. She endeavors to bring a Broadway quality to children’s theatre that is often overlooked. No idea is too outlandish as she thrives on solving seemingly impossible challenges.

Amanda is thrilled to bring her passion and creativity to CAST where she can empower the next generation to live out their dreams!
